Here are some common questions that beginning runners ask:
What are the best running shoes?
What type of socks should I use?
How much should I spend on running shoes?
Of course, the answers to these questions can very, but here are some basic guidelines to help you get started:
Don't go out and guy the latest pair of Nikes.
Once you hit about $70, you aren't going to get better shoes for your money, so you don't have to spend a fortune.
The best shoes for you will depend on the shape of your foot, how you step, and the size of your body. The best way to figure out what shoes you need is to go to a running store and ask them to help.
Don't wear regular cotton socks. You'll want socks designed for running. This will allow your feet to breath and help prevent blisters.
Your feet swell when you run, so your running shoe size will probably be 1/2 size larger than your normal size.
Different brands and styles will feel different, so try on lots of shoes before choosing a pair. And if they hurt after you run in the, go buy another pair!
Good luck!
